FAQ

Absolutely—many wedding hair and makeup artists do travel internationally, but not all artists are equally prepared for destination work. When planning a destination wedding, it’s important to choose a destination-experienced stylist who understands the nuances of international travel, country-specific guidelines, and contingency planning.
An experienced travel artist knows how to navigate customs regulations, pack professional kits correctly, and prepare for unexpected situations—like airline delays or lost luggage. In fact, during my first and second destination weddings, my checked luggage didn’t arrive. Because I had a backup system in place, my brides never felt a moment of stress—and their wedding mornings unfolded seamlessly.
This level of preparation is what separates a true destination wedding professional from someone who simply “can travel.” When your artist understands international logistics, communicates proactively, and plans for every scenario, you’re free to focus on what matters most: enjoying your wedding day with confidence and ease.

There are several benefits to bringing your own hair and makeup artist for a destination wedding. When traveling internationally, language barriers can sometimes make it difficult to fully communicate your vision—and clear communication is essential to achieving your desired wedding look and overall wedding aesthetic, even when English is a second language. Bringing your own artist also gives you the opportunity to schedule a trial before the wedding day, removing stress and uncertainty and allowing you to feel confident, prepared, and at ease going into wedding week.

Travel fees for destination weddings are structured for flight and lodging to ensure our artists arrive prepared, rested, and able to deliver their best work.
For international destination weddings, we require a minimum 4-night stay. Our stylists arrive two days prior to the event—one buffer day to account for potential travel delays or lost luggage, and one day to acclimate to the time zone. This allows our destination stylists to be fully rested and focused on wedding day. The wedding typically takes place on day three, with one additional night reserved for recovery before departure. Artists may extend their stay at their own expense, which is why lodging is required for four nights.
For domestic travel within the U.S. and the Caribbean, we require a minimum 3-night stay with a similar, experience-based approach to travel. As seasoned destination professionals, we prioritize thoughtful planning and flexibility to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience for our couples.

While we would love to offer an all-inclusive destination wedding package, destination travel involves several variables that make a fixed package difficult to quote upfront. Flight costs, for example, are based on current market pricing at the time of inquiry. Once your contract and deposit are received, our team books travel promptly to lock in the airfare rate.
In addition to flights, destination quotes include a nightly lodging rate per stylist, along with ground transportation costs such as shuttles or rental cars when needed. These details allow us to create a transparent, customized travel estimate rather than a one-size-fits-all package.
Our hair and makeup services are always based on our current published rates, which can be viewed [here]. This approach ensures clarity, flexibility, and accurate pricing—so there are no surprises as your destination wedding plans come together.
